LIVE IT UP! È il titolo scelto per rappresentare il nuovo album degli Airbourne.
Il primo singolo estrapolato da BLACK DOG BARKING (l’ultima fatica della band in uscita a fine maggio) verrà suonato in anteprima al Six Flag Magic Mountain, un evento di notevole rilievo che si terrà questa primavera nell’assolata Valencia in California.
È ufficiale l’album uscirà a maggio.

AIRBOURNE’S THIRD ALBUM, BLACK DOG BARKING WILL BE RELEASED MAY 21, 2013;
NEW YORK, NY (February 7, 2013) – Australia’s Airbourne will release Black Dog Barking on Roadrunner Records, May 21, 2013. Produced by award winning producer Brian Howes, this is Airbourne’s third album and the follow up to No Guts. No Glory. which was released in 2010.
Airbourne’s infectious music has been used in more than 20 video games, countless films, trailers and more. Inspired by the likes of Judas Priest, Thin Lizzy, AC/DC and Motörhead, Airbourne has been winning fans since 2003 with their high energy, whiplash-inducing, working man’s rock ‘n’ roll. Airbourne has also racked up numerous accolades and awards including one they took home in 2008 from the Metal Hammer Golden Gods. Their first album Runnin’ Wild was named the year’s Best Debut Album. Spin said “Runnin’ Wild, Airbourne’s debut, is a smorgasbord of sledgehammer riffs, crass sex puns, and boozy sing-alongs.”
Hailing from Warrnambool, a small drinking town on the southwestern coast of Victoria, Australia, Airbourne has steadily gained an immense following with their explosive live shows and main stage festival appearances including a headliner spot at Waken 2011, Rock Am Ring/Park (Germany) and Download (UK). It’s been a long year and a half for Airbourne since coming off the road mid-2011 to work on Black Dog Barking. Said the band, “A lot of thought and effort has gone into this record not only by the band, but by the production crew who worked countless hours, seven days a week, even through Christmas and New Year’s Eve to achieve the best possible performances, backed by real undying tones. È ufficiale! Come annunciato qualche giorno fa, il 19 e 20 giugno gli Airbourne elettrizzeranno la nostra penisola esibendosi, ed ecco la novità, a Roma ed a Cesena.
Nella capitale I Quattro saliranno sul palco del noto Orion mentre in quel di Cesena calcheranno le scene del Vidia Club.
Entrambe le date li vedranno esibirsi da headliner con gruppi di supporto ancora avvolti nel mistero. È certo che la scaletta comprenderà, oltre a noti cavalli di battaglia, anche molte delle canzoni incise nell’album di prossima uscita. Ovviamente questa notizia è più ovvia che ufficiale, ma nemmeno le fonti ufficiose la smentiscono… Infatti ricordiamo che l’album, ad inizio 2012, era previsto in uscita con i primi mesi del 2013; poi i seguenti disguidi e ritardi nel decidere dove registrare e soprattutto che produttore ingaggiare, hanno fatto slittare in avanti la pubblicazione del lavoro, ma l’annuncio di nuove date per il 2013 dà la quasi certezza che il nuovo materiale sarà pronto ed egregiamente eseguito, per non deludere i fan, fin dalla prima data del nuovo tour.
Quindi cosa aspettiamo? Intanto stappiamo una birra e brindiamo con il primo che ci capita a tiro e poi acquistiamo il biglietto perché… dobbiamo essere in tanti!
Sono due anni che ci prepariamo per urlare a squarciagola le canzoni degli Airbourne frustati dalle note elettriche di David. Di saltare sulle punte dandoci spallate mentre Ryan fa volteggiare le bacchette. Di fischiare fino a farci esplodere le carotidi mentre i capelli di Justin vanno in centrifuga e di alzare le corna al cielo benedetti dagli occhi maligni di Joel. Il momento è quasi arrivato, la data è certa come è certo il grande spettacolo che ci aspetta e quindi… Fuoco alle polveri e volume a palla… Ci vediamo là!
